The owners, Dave Gunderson and Michelle Waldeck, have a combined background of nearly 40 years in the industry and all of our framing professionals have backgrounds in art and design. They are trained to provide the full spectrum of custom design services, ensuring that you go home with the perfect frame package.

Corporate Framing

For over 20 years, Monroe Street Framing has been proudly serving Madison’s design community. Artists, decorators, architects, interior designers, galleries and museums choose to work with us because we are uniquely qualified to provide the exceptional framing and service that you would expect to find at one of Madison’s most established custom frame shops.

Conservation Framing
Some artwork requires special handling and framing in order to preserve the integrity of the piece.  Monroe Street Framing was one of the first shops in the Madison area to exclusively use conservation materials. We continue to carry a wide variety of conservation framing materials, from museum-quality matting and UV filtering glass. As the custom frame shop to several local and regional galleries and museums, we are committed to museum quality framing. Archival framing is an essential aspect of conservation.

Art Restoration 
While our expertise lies in custom picture framing, we can work in collaboration with local and national restoration labs to assist you with the conservation or restoration of your artwork.

Delivery and Installation 
Monroe Street Framing offers delivery and installation throughout the Madison area. We are also
able to deliver throughout the mid-west, should your project require this service. Our installation specialists are trained to hang anything from individual pieces in a residence to multiple-pieces within corporate buildings.

Artwork 
The invention of the internet has made artwork much more accessible than it was in decades past.  Due to the variety and availability of images and media, we have established relationships with several reputable local and national galleries. Working in partnership with these galleries, we are able to provide our clients with artwork upon request. Please contact us for more details!
